Life in the UK test contract awarded to PSI Services

On 17 July 2019 the Home Office announced that a current provider PSI Services has been awarded the Life in the UK contract for another 3 years.
The Life in the UK test is part of your application for British citizenship or settlement in the UK. The computer-based test involves answering 24 questions on areas of British life, traditions, history, politics, and customs.
The test's mission is to support cultural integration as it helps to make sure that those who wish to move to the UK or become British citizens, understand British values and cultural traditions. Moreover, it is an additional test of an applicant's level of English language.
Every year approximately 177,000 people take the test. This year, applicants can take the test at around 41 location points across the UK. The Home Office is currently working on reforming the Life in the UK test to give greater attention to the British values and principles expected of those wishing to call the UK their permanent home.
PSI Services demonstrated that they offered the best value for the taxpayer and expertise to deliver a high-quality service. The new contract is expected to be in place by the winter of this year. The contract will last for three years, with a possible extension of up to 24 months.
