The Top Three October Immigration Updates: UK's Autumn Transition
Tuesday 10th October 2023
Autumn 2023 brings significant developments in UK immigration. Here are the top three updates:
1️⃣ UK Immigration Fees – Set to Surge 💸
The Home Office has announced the upcoming increase in immigration and nationality application fees, effective from 4 October 2023, by 15-35%. The fee adjustments will affect visit visas, entry clearance, indefinite leave to remain, health and care visas, and other visas.
2️⃣ ETA Scheme to Launch 🇶🇦
The UK is launching its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme, starting with Qatari nationals.
The ETA is a digital 'permission to travel'. The scheme will expand to other nationalities in the future.
3️⃣ Health and Care Worker – Work Limits are Back 🏥
The Home Office has reinstated restrictions on Health and Care Worker visas, limiting their additional work hours to 20 per week.
🏥 This change comes after a brief period where unlimited extra work was allowed for those with a Health and Care Worker visa, provided it was related to health and care occupations.
