Can the Home Office make mistakes? Passport Refusal Overturned
Friday 24th November 2023
We have recently been instructed by parents of a child whose application for a British passport was refused.
Our legal consultant, Olga Bakeeva, analysed the case and uncovered that the rejection was made unlawfully. Here's how we turned the tables:
Our Action Plan:
✉️ We sent two letters to the HM Passport Office, shedding light on the incorrect decision.
🔄 Result? They acknowledged the error and greenlit a fresh application with NO additional fees.
Has your application been rejected by the Home Office? Do not panic— get informed.
🔍 Key Questions to Ask:
🤷♂️ Are there factual errors in the decision?
📝 Have they misrepresented information about you?
🧐 Have crucial parts of your application been overlooked?
👉 Identify the basis of the refusal—do you not meet immigration rules?
💸 Was there a problem with the application process, like missing the application fee?
While it is rare, there is a chance that the Home Office have followed the wrong procedure or rules when they made their decision.
