UK Expands Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) Scheme to More Nationals

🛂 The UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme, first launched in October 2023, will expand to cover all non-visa nationals by November 2024. The ETA is required for those visiting or transiting the UK who do not already need a visa or hold a valid UK immigration status. The scheme will apply to most non-Europeans by 8 January 2025 and to Europeans by 2 April 2025. The phased rollout aims to strengthen the UK’s border security by allowing the government to pre-screen travellers before they arrive.
The passport used in the application must be a national passport, establishing eligibility. 🌐🇬🇧
