When a Mortgage Becomes a Prison: The Reality of Financial Abuse
Monday 14th October 2024
💔 Women are being trapped in “mortgage abuse traps” by domestic abusers, leaving them struggling to survive. A new report by Surviving Economic Abuse shows that 1 in 8 women in the UK with joint mortgages have experienced economic abuse by a current or former partner. Many are left with crushing debt, unable to leave unsafe homes or even afford basic necessities like food and clothing.
