Ukraine Scheme Visas: Understanding the New Rules for Settlement
Friday 29th November 2024
❗️ We would like to inform you of important changes to the UK Immigration Rules as outlined in the Statement of Changes (HC 334) which came into effect on 26 November 2024. One key aspect of this update pertains to the time spent under the Ukraine Scheme visas.
Impact on Long Residence Applications
Please be aware that, under the new Immigration Rules, the time spent in the UK on Ukraine Scheme visas will not count towards the qualifying period for long residence applications (those based on 10 years of continuous lawful residence). This means that if you are considering applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) under the long residence route, the time spent on a Ukraine Scheme visa will not be included in the calculation of your qualifying period.
