Ukraine Extension Scheme: How to Apply
Monday 13th January 2025
📝 The application process for the Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Here’s a clear breakdown of what you need to know.
Applications must be made online. Timing is key—please make sure you apply within 28 days prior to the expiry of your current visa. Applying too early could result in rejection while applying late could temporarily affect your rights to work, rent, or access public funds.
Here’s what you’ll need:
• A UKVI account with access to your eVisa
• Your expired Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), if you have one
• Documents proving your identity, accommodation details, and any periods spent outside the UK since your visa was granted
Most applicants will be able to use the UK Immigration: ID Check app to verify their identity. If not, you may need to visit a Visa Application Centre (VAC) to provide biometrics.
Preparation is everything, and every detail counts. If you’re unsure about any step, it’s better to ask for help early on.
