BritCard: A Vision for a Smarter, Fairer UK Identity System

The UK government is considering the introduction of BritCard, a national digital identity system that would provide proof of legal residence and work status to everyone with the right to be in the country, including British citizens and legal migrants.
Unlike physical documents that can be lost or forged, the BritCard would live securely on a user’s smartphone, offering instant verification for employers, landlords, and public services.
